Yara Said was born in Syria in 1991 and graduated at the Academy of Fine Arts of Damascus in 2014. She is part of the Femist Art Fest collective and, invited by Amnesty International for a personal show in Amsterdam in 2016, she designed the flag representing the Refugee Olympic Team flag for the Rio Olympics of 2016, that has been acquired by the Victoria and Albert Museum and is currently part of an exhibition at the Stedelijik Museum in Amsterdam. Her style goes beyond the traditional categories of abstract and figurative, it uses presences and disappearances to create the dense structure of an anamorphic imaginary.
